Your guide to setting up and navigating your Ledger hardware wallet and services
Welcome to the **Official Site®** resource center. If you're new to Ledger, this page helps you begin with Ledger.io/start, understand Ledger Login flows, and explore Ledger Suite. Our goal is that by the end of this, you feel confident using the Ledger Hardware Wallet, interacting with Ledger Bridge, and logging in via Ledger Io Start or Ledger Login.
We’ll be presenting the content with headings from H1
through H5
, so you can see how your articles or guides could be structured.
Ledger.io/start
The first step is to navigate to Ledger.io/start. This landing page guides you through setting up your device, downloading the Ledger Live app, and initiating your account. It’s the central launchpad for new users.
After installation, you'll use Ledger Login to authenticate your credentials. Ledger uses strong cryptographic protocols, so even your local session is secured. Always confirm the device screen matches the login prompt before approving.
The Ledger Suite refers to the collection of apps and services offered—Ledger Live, Ledger Bridge, Ledger Io Start, and integrations with decentralized apps (dApps). With the Suite, you manage accounts, send/receive crypto, stake assets, and more.
Ledger Bridge is the software that links your Ledger Hardware Wallet to web applications. It acts as a secure conduit: when a dApp requests a signature, Bridge communicates between your browser and the hardware device.
A Ledger device stores your private keys offline. When you want to transact, you plug it in, open Ledger Live, and confirm operations on the screen. Transactions never expose your private keys to the internet — that’s the essence of hardware security.
During your first connection, Ledger prompts you to choose a PIN and generate a recovery phrase. Always write down the phrase in physical form and keep it safe — this is your ultimate recovery tool.
Then, using Ledger Login, you'll register your accounts within Ledger Live. You can add Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported chains. Each network appears as a managed account under your Suite.
When a decentralized app (dApp) requests access, you’ll be prompted via Ledger Bridge. You grant permission only for the specific account and operation. Approve on your hardware device for maximum security.
Always keep your Ledger device firmware and Ledger Live app updated. Ledger periodically issues security patches and new features you don’t want to miss.
Always confirm you’re on “ledger.io” domains like Ledger.io/start or official login pages. Never enter your recovery phrase on any website.
Your 24‑word recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet if your hardware device is lost or damaged. Never store it digitally or online.
